The RNYC Junior Learn To Sail Program offers 5 Levels of certified instruction. The CANSail program is designed to provide sailors with the skills they need to enter into fun, challenging experiences suited to their age and stage of development. Programs are designed to get – and keep – sailors excited about sailing! CANSail programs are offered by local clubs and schools across Canada.The program provides safe, challenging, and educational sailing instruction while promoting seamanship, sportsmanship, and fostering a lifelong love of sailing.
The RNYC Junior Sailing Program offers 4 Levels of certified instruction for ages 8 and up. The Program follows the Sail Canada CANSail module created to ensure standardised sailing instruction across Canada. The program provides safe, challenging, and educational sailing instruction while promoting seamanship, sportsmanship, and fostering a lifelong love of sailing.
Courses are run from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM with supervision provided from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Parents and persons responsible are required to ensure timely transportation and pickup arrangements.

For sailors who have enjoyed their summer camp experience and want another challenge! This program will introduce the basic elements of sailboat racing. Sailors will develop an understanding of sailing as a sport while progressing through the CANSail levels in a smaller size group with dedicated coaching from RNYC Race Coach Darcy Butler who holds the highest level of race coach certification Sail Canada offers.
Who: Sailors 11+ who have completed at least one week of summer camp
When: Three Tuesday Evenings from 5:00pm-8:00pm
Cost: $125 (for all three sessions)
Course Options: Course 1 (July 15, 22, 29) Course 2 (Aug 19, 26, Sept 2)
